Aer Lingus invests in Algarve flights

Irish flagcarrier Aer Lingus will soon be reinforcing its operations to the Algarve with confirmation of a new route between Shannon and Faro as well as a boost in flights to the popular holiday destination from Cork.

Aer Lingus at Faro airport - Faro Car HireLast week the national airline confirmed a new flight between Shannon and Faro as part of its 2013 summer schedule, which comprises flights from Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports in Ireland to 85 destinations.

Aer Lingus’s new service to Faro aims to offer customers easy access to the ever-popular holiday resort.

The airline has also boosted its flights to Lisbon, as well as putting on extra flights between the Algarve and Cork.

Aer Lingus Director of Communications, Declan Kearney said: “Our 2013 summer schedule offers our customers more choice with additional frequencies, new destinations and a great mix of city break and summer sun options. We’ve also significantly increased our number of transatlantic flights in response to customer demand. We look forward to welcoming customers on board the new services.”

The three weekly Shannon-Faro flights, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are on sale now and commence on 1 May, operating until the end of September 2013. Prices start from €59.99.

It has added an additional weekly flight from Dublin to Lisbon, as well as one additional flight per week between Cork and Faro.
